Muslim Marriage Biodata Format

A Muslim marriage biodata follows the same one-page format as any biodata, with one change: the horoscope section is replaced by religious details — sect (Sunni or Shia), and optionally maslak, biradari and how you practise. It usually opens with Bismillah. Education, family and contact sections stay the same.

Frequently asked questions

What should a Muslim marriage biodata include?

Personal details, a religious section (sect, and optionally maslak and practice), education and career, family details, contact and partner preference. There is no horoscope section.

Should I write my sect and biradari in a Muslim biodata?

Most families do write the sect (Sunni or Shia) because it is usually the first thing checked. Biradari or community is common in North India and optional elsewhere — include it if your family considers it.

What goes at the top of a Muslim biodata?

Many families write Bismillah (بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ) at the top. It's a custom, not a requirement; the free maker lets you choose it or no header.
